I have been on such a KMod kick lately, it is insane! I am a part of a Facebook group for psychological thriller lovers. It was there that I was first introduced to Kiersten Modglin. The first book of hers that I read was "I Said Yes". It was such a solid thriller, she sold me immediately.
I just finished listening to an audiobook of her novel, "The Arrangement" and loved it. I have placed a hold on the sequel, "The Amendment", and I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to get my hands on it soon! I have read and listened to 21 books so far this year and have only rated 4 of them with 5 stars. "The Arrangement" was one of the 3. SO. GOOD.
You guys know that I love a good thriller and Kiersten Modglin is a master of the genre. Twisty, domestic thrillers are her specialty!

The arrangement was just meant to fix their marriage.
No one was supposed to get hurt.
But when the rules of this open marriage are broken, the consequences are sinister.
Ainsley Greenburg is a fixer.
It's what she prides herself on.
So, when she realizes her marriage is at its breaking point, she makes a decision to repair it, no matter the cost. Approaching her husband to propose the arrangement is supposed to be the hard part, but Peter agrees to the salacious plan almost immediately.
The rules are simple:
They will each date someone new once a week.
They will never discuss what happens on the dates.
Soon, though, the rules are broken, turning terrible mistakesinto unspeakable consequences.
When the only person they can count on to keep their darkest secret is each other, new questions and deceits surface. Can they truly trust the person they share a life with, or will the vicious lies that have mounted over the years destroy everything they've built?
Once, Peter and Ainsley vowed to stand together forever, but as they push boundaries of deception, suspicion, and temptation, each begins to wonder if 'til death do us part may come sooner than they'd intended
I gave this book 5 stars on Goodreads. There was literally no point in this book that I figured out what was going to happen. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Kiersten Modglin threw me another curveball. This one was pure insanity, through and through, but I was hooked.
I listened to the audiobook of this one. The chapters are written from alternating points of view. The audiobook had narrators for both Peter and Ainsley, which added to the overall listening/reading experience. This was like a movie. I would listen to it on my drive to school and every time that I had to get out of the car, I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen next. I think that feeling of curiosity is a testament to how much I really enjoyed reading this one!
Overall, I would definitely reccommend this book to readers 18+. There is some disturbing themes and adult language used throughout this book. If those kinds of things bother you or may make you uncomfortable, I suggest that you pass on this one. If you enjoy reading thrillers with good writing and jaw dropping twists, I would totally recommend this book to you!
With all books that I read, I make a playlist to go along with the book. These playlists are full of songs which encapsulate the feeling of the story as a whole, capture the essence of a particular scene, or just remind me of one of the characters. You can find my playlist for "The Arrangement" on Apple Music or Spotify.
